Victor sat down with a heavy sigh, letting his hands dangle between his knees. Slowly, he brought his eyes up to look at Terry. “So… your dad’s Nightmare. I mean, the actual personification of nightmares themselves.”
Terry raked his fingers through his hair, which was laying unusually flat on his head. “I’ve got a dad, and that is not him. It. Whatever.” Never mind that he hadn’t seen his father since he’d joined the Initiative. That wasn’t important.
Victor turned his eyes to the sun rising over the horizon. “Well, Doctor Strange got rid of him for now, in any case.” He clucked his tongue, which made a slightly odd sound (at least, to Terry). “And now you know your own secret origin.”
Terry grunted, rubbing his eyes with his thumb and forefinger. “I’m tired,” he sighed. “I’m afraid to go to sleep, and I’m so tired.”
“He’s gone now. It’s okay to sleep. I promise.”
