“Anyone ever tell you that you’re pretty damn amazing?” Victor asked Gert, giving her something that was kind of a smile.

She returned the look, peering at the cyborg over her glasses. “Chase does, every now and then. And I remind him when he forgets.”

Victor scratched the back of his head, dropping his gaze from the green eyed girl. “Then I guess he’s smarter than he looked.”

Gert laughed quietly. “He has to be,” she said.
