“Would it help if I clapped my hands or something?” Tommy asked. “Cause so far, this doesn’t seem to be working.”

“I’m trying,” Megan said, scowling as she opened an eye to glare at the speedster. On the whole, it wasn’t a particularly impressive look. She was simply too cute for proper scowling and glaring. “Maybe if you would stop talking and let me concentrate…”

“You know, Billy says that to me a lot,” Tommy mused, zipping around the room they were stuck in. He tried vibrating part of the gunmetal grey wall until it exploded, but it just soaked up the speed he lent its molecules and remained stubbornly solid. “Dammit.”

“Can’t you hold still for a minute,” Megan asked, clearly frustrated. She’d been at this for a few hours now, and Tommy had managed to grate away every bit of her normally sweet temper. “You’re distracting me.”

“If you can’t do this on the fly, with stuff going on around you, you must be no good in a fight,” Tommy teased.

“Don’t make me dust you, cause I will.”
